Least-square calibration by using gauge blocks with different height

Hello,

I am currently calibrating my system by using gauge blocks with different height. But I do not familiar with using least-square fitting to predict many terms like the formula from the article "Hyper-accurate flexible calibration technique for fringe-projection-based three dimensional imaging". When I use Matlab to solve for the coefficient of the formula, it usually give me ill-conditioned warning. Is there any specific way to solve the coffient efficiently?
